What is a Mobile Bridge Inspection Unit?
A Mobile Bridge Inspection Unit (MBIU) is a versatile, truck-mounted system equipped with hydraulic arms and platforms that can access hard-to-reach parts of a bridge—such as the underside of decks, piers, or girders—without interrupting traffic flow. This allows inspection teams to conduct detailed visual, structural, and non-destructive testing (NDT) safely and efficiently.
